  • Let the kids be bored. Let them come up with their own ideas to pass time. This would enable their creative thinking.
  • It’s fine to give an adult talk sometimes, instead of masking all the details with child like talk always.
  • Inculcate regular sleeping habits. Start with waking up early morning first instead of depending on sleeping early at night to wake up early in the morning.
  • Food needs to be respected and food preparation needs to be respected.
  • Children are not allowed to disrespect parents or adults for that matter.
  • Teach good habits early in the childhood.
  • Kids need to help with some household chores.
  • Value money and value all the privileges we have. Value the things we own no matter how small they are. Lead by example.
  • Teach them wait and not to interrupt when adults are talking .
  • Be a parent and not a friend always. Parents need to do things that kids hate sometimes for their own benefit.
  • Make kids active in kitchen. Let them sense the food we eat and experience the process of cooking.
  • Take them to the Grandparents place. Let them spend time with grandparents. Show them the old photos and videos.
  • Try to involve them in your family traditions and cultural activities .
  • Kids need to know that they would not get everything they desire. Sometimes they need to get over their whims and move on.
  • Dress them up for occasions and events appropriately. Dress code matters and gains importance as they grow up.
  • Let them clean their room, sort out their shelves and help with laundry.
  • Teach kids that comparison is a destroyer of happiness and peace.
  • Teach kids about sharing, caring, helping.
  • Teach kids about leadership and taking the responsibility .
  • Encourage kids to play outdoor games.
