Exercise – A Natural Brain Boosting Drug

According many researches, it was found that exercising daily or doing some kind of physical activity has more benefits mentally than physically. Think of exercising as a brain pension plan. Since we are IT employees we do not receive pension when we retire. But we can have this amazing pension plan for mental health free of cost.

Effective exercise produces all essential hormones in the brain to mitigate the mental and emotional issues. Sometimes man brain disorders can be completely cured.

Many researchers suggest more the movements, more flexibility, newer challenges and more muscular-skeletal usage would lead to better brain muscle activity and development.

During exercise Brain releases a protein called Brain derived Neurotrophic factor (BDNF) during exercise. This protein enables strengthening and development of neurons and prevents brain cell death.

Exercise and physical activity releases Dopamine along with other neurotransmitters serotonin and noradrenaline. These are all feel good and happiness related hormones that activate reward center of the brain. They give you post workout HIGH enabling you to give high performance.

Exercising properly reduces the level of cortisol(stress hormone). Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts overall mood.

Finally it improves the overall wellbeing of an individual.
