When Where and How will help you prioritize daily tasks

Many people think they don’t have time for their personal development and self-care. Actually people don’t have clarity and focus. They do not prioritize their activities and blame on shortage of time.

They just need to focus on questions like ‘When’ ‘Where’ and ‘How’. This answers most of the challenges with time and helps to prioritize things in life.

The Stockdale Paradox – Must read

The Stockdale Paradox is a concept that was popularized by Jim Collins in his book Good to Great. It was named after James Stockdale, former vice presidential candidate, naval officer, and Vietnam prisoner of war. The paradox describes the value and difficulty of striking a balance between realism and optimism. During this horrific period, Stockdale was repeatedly tortured and had no reason to believe he’d make it out alive. Held in the clutches of the grim reality of his hell world, he found a way to stay alive by embracing both the harshness of his situation with a balance of healthy optimism.

You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.” This formulation became known as the Stockdale Paradox.

Understanding the Stockdale Paradox can help you better confront the reality of tough situations while also maintaining faith that you’ll ultimately succeed. This contradictory way of thinking was the strength that led James through those trying years. Such paradoxical thinking, whether you consciously know it or not, has been one of the defining philosophies for great leaders making it through hardship and reaching their goals.

How control happens slowly and creeps in

First they push you a little bit and you do not resist. After sometime again they push you a little further and you don’t move. Then they push you more and you didn’t realise and go with the flow. So this continues for a while. By the time you realise and recognise that you have been hoodwinked and manipulated, you are stuck in nexus of regulations and policies. You are not in control over your decision making and you feel like you are helpless and hopeless.

Generally people in power and people who want to control do it directly. Instead of showing their force directly they attack the critical thinking of the common person. When you deprive the power of questioning and ability to think for themselves, then there is a huge population who are disempowered and rely on system for their survival.

I think the most powerful Elite and the people who control and run this world would give you the illusion of democracy freedom rights and all these things that gives sense of empowerment to the common citizen. Strategy is that give enough hope and privileges in the garb of rights and ultimately make the common man helpless and completely powerless when it comes to taking decisions that are in their best interest.

Every system is created in such a way that the other person is dependent and always need to be.
When you have enough money where you can do anything and spend on anything to get in life then immediately your priority goes to works power and control.

Take care of yourself to experience divinity

When you ignore your health and wellness, when you don’t take care of your body and mind, when you are not physically fit, when you are not mentally strong and emotionally balanced then you are denying yourself the true experience of divinity.

We all want to experience the power of god. We all can experience the god by working on ourselves to be the best version of ourselves. By realising our true potential we can experience the inner strength. Our life is god’s gift to us and living a life of meaning is our gift to god.

Its like you have a mind which is sitting on the top of your head and you have a temple that is called body. If you don’t take a care of your body called temple and when you ignore the health of your mind which is the God, then you are disrespecting the very thing that god has given to you.

The story of Sisyphus and what we can learn

Hades punished him for cheating death twice by forcing him to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity. The moral of “The Myth of Sisyphus” is that there is no greater meaning in life but what we give it. When we accept that the universe has no inherent meaning or reason, we can be free of artificial expectations and embrace the absurd. Sisyphus teaches us to never give in to circumstantial disappointments or try to escape from the failures, rather accept failures the same way we accept our achievements. And most importantly, no matter how much we lose in our quest, we must never back down till we fulfill our potential.

It is normal to have enemies when you are great

When people become great and exceptional, they attract enemies. More people deny your greatness to hide their inability to achieve. This is a normal process as some people want to drag you down when you reach higher standards. People who are ordinary and confirm to the norms of the society have more friends.

This is normal and people who have different goals need to accept this fact.

Many experiences in life are important

You need to have enough experiences to value what you have and what is in front of you. Or else it is difficult to take right decisions. You don’t have a reference to compare and do the right thing if you do not expose yourself to marid number of experiences. You need to voluntarily pursue challenges and overcome them. You need to make progress to feel alive and happy.

Anxious – Then Observe your thoughts in this way

Action cures anxiety.

HALT = hungry, angry, lonely, tired. Address these when you are anxious. Observe and move to a different state by taking some action.

For instance,
Hungry = have some nutritious meal
Angry = Deep breath, take a walk, Listen to something relaxing
Lonely = Play with kids, talk to your friends, participate in community
Tired = Take rest, sleep.

  • When you are having chronic anxiety, check if you are living in congruent with your values.
