Come Out of Victim Mentality

Most of us are addicted to comfort, embracing a victim’s mentality and unaware of our true potential. The truth is we all make habitual , self-limiting choices that keep devaluing our inner strength.

It is only you and you are the culprit if you are postponing your dreams, passions and love towards something or someone. You are missing out on opportunities of life and failing to improve your life if you put blame on traffic, because of air pollution, corruption, because you don’t have time, because you have health problems, because you have a busy job, because you have family burdens, responsibilities, and things to take care of and so on. If you think this way, you are in victim mentality.

Hours and days evaporate like anything just like a drop of sanitizer of your hands. It is ok to be nervous and feel stressful because you are not utilizing time efficiently as long as it inspires to you to take time seriously and make gradual improvements.

Whether it’s a career goal ( pursuing passion parallel to job, start a business ), a lifestyle goal ( becoming healthy, getting fitter and stronger, get more active ), or an athletic one ( run my first 5K , 10K , or marathon ), you need to be truthful with yourself about where you are and the necessary steps it will take to achieve those goals , day by day. Self – improvement takes immense commitment apart from being disciplined and determined to reach our goal.

  • DECIDE TODAY AND TAKE ACTION.
  • DON’T FEEL ENTITLED AND REALIZE THAT THIS WORLD DOES NOT OWE YOU. COME OUT OF VICTIM MINDSET.
  • DO NOT COMPLAIN AND PUT BLAME OF EXTERNAL FACTORS. DO WHAT YOU COULD DO WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHERE YOU ARE.
  • YOU NEED TO WORK FOR SOMETHING TO HAVE IT AND RELISH IT FOR LONG TERM.
  • THE GRIND DOES NOT STOP ONCE YOU ACHIEVE SOMETHING, RATHER YOU MIGHT HAVE TO WORK HARDER THAN BEFORE WHEN YOU REACH A POSITION.
  • DO NOT INDULGE IN SELF-PITY AS IT JUST MAKES YOU LAZY AND WEAKER.
  • KEEP IN MIND THAT EVERYONE AROUND YOU ARE GOING THROUGH CHALLANGES IN THEIR LIVES AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE. LIFE IS TOUGH FOR ALL OF US AND ONLY TOUGH ONES MAKE IT TO THE TOP.
  • BE GRATEFUL TO WHAT YOU HAVE AND SHOW RESPECT TO THE GIFTS YOUR LIFE HAS SHOWERED YOU WITH.

Not having Time is Not An Excuse

  • We generally find it challenging and difficult to prioritize important factors in life. We can state a number of reasons like no time, no resources, office work, family constraints, traffic, pollution and we can go on. Due to which we tend to ignore key jobs by spending time on trivial things that would not add much value or improve us. Time management is an essential skill for happiness and success in all aspects of life.
  • Spend time each day focusing on major areas of your life like HEALTH, FAMILY, JOB, SOCIAL LIFE IN THE SAME ORDER. We need to stick to some DAILY ROUTINE that inspires us to learn, improve and contribute.
  • FIRST WE NEED TO BE HONEST AND COURAGEOUS ENOUGH TO LET GO OF OUR EGO AND SAY THAT WE ARE WASTING OUR VALUABLE TIME. THAT WE WILL MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO OPTIMIZE TIME USAGE FROM NOW ON. Sometimes it is fine to be harsh on ourselves to identify our weak links and improve ourselves.
  • Valuing our life priorities may mean spending some extra hours at work for not skipping that workout session, following a healthy diet, spending quality time with your wife and kids .

Beliefs That Matter

Most people drift through life. With no purpose, direction, goal, mission and what they want to become or achieve finally. It is not short term but we are talking about long term here. It is not about being unhappy or sad. Many people are content being just neutral and not feel anything at all. It is just like having no excitement when we wake up, no expectation from this day or no idea of how to spend the day fruitfully and feel fulfilled at the end of the day.

Some people believe that ‘Fitting in’ to adhere to societal norms would make the life easier, safer. So here what happens is they tend to go which ever direction life drives them. They are not in control of their happiness or life. They are dependent on life’s decisions to give them happiness or grief. They let the life to program and create agenda for them. Many people would allow anything and anyone to impact their lives and impact the direction of their lives.

STAND FOR SOMETHING SO THAT YOU DON’T FALL FOR ANYTHING

HAVE AN AGENDA FOR YOURSELF SO THAT YOU DON’T RUN ON OTHER’S AGENDAS.

PROGRAM YOUR MIND SO THAT OTHERS DONT PROGRAM YOUR MIND.

LIVE IN THIS WORLD AND DON’T LET THE WORLD LIVE IN YOUR MIND.

  • You should be in control of your feelings, your attitude, your behavior, your actions . Circumstances and life should not define your personality. We need to decide how we feel and behave. We are in control which state of mind we want to be. If we have positivity and optimistic about the day, better things happen to us. If we feel exhausted and irritated with all different things that happen around us, we feel miserable. They let the circumstances define their behavior and mindset. They will never be sure of how they would be at any stage of life. Instead, be positive, do the best you could do in any situation, be in control of your feelings, instead focus your mind on something that is useful to you. This makes you productive and satisfied. If you are in control, then you become empowered. You start to attract better circumstances and outcomes. Improve, develop and become stronger, do that daily work on you so that you can be ready for any uncertainty thrown at you. So that you can welcome the overwhelming changes and take them head on.
  • Being grateful and being thankful for everyone and everything happens to us. Happy people are happy because they appreciate and show gratitude more than unhappy people. It is almost true that a person with miserable mindset who is poor would mostly be miserable even he is rich. A person who cannot make the best use of resources in the current situation may not be successful in being productive when he has everything in life. Feel blessed and you will be blessed.
  • Be yourself and be true to yourself. In the world right now many people change their personalities to fit in or get attraction of certain people. Most probably you may not be able to survive or be fulfilled being someone else for somebody. Just be yourself, you will have to attract people for who are, you need to be rewarded for who are. The rewards, happiness success might not last for long if you wear a mask. If you are you, right people who love you for who you are will show up. You will be able to make use of the opportunities in a right way only if you see them through you true eyes and true self.
  • You are capable of anything. Anything you believe strongly could be your reality. That dream or passion you have, work for it, plan for it, go for it.
  • Kindness and empathy always works. Do not lose hope on kindness. Only because you have been ill-treated does not mean you need to be cruel to others. Always do good , think good and try to bring good to other’s lives. People want be with kind and good people.
  • Believe that everything happens for a reason and there is an opportunity in it. It could have happened for you to become stronger , to learn a lesson. Sometimes things happen in our best interest even though it may seem to be not at that moment. You can inspire others in the process.
  • Always give your best and be better the next day. If you keep believing that your best is yet to come, you keep improving and developing. You would not stop and become complacent at any stage of life. You will be inspirational and motivational to others and for yourself. You will have the drive and mindset to achieve bigger and better things in life.

There is No Overnight Transformation

There is no overnight transformation physically or mentally. It takes determination, consistency, hard work, patience, eye on bigger picture, self-control, growing through the difficulties and growing stronger and stronger.

Set yourself in motion, take those first steps, make mistakes, learn, practice,  improve, keep an eye on goal but focus on the process, be consistent, do not give up, be patient and keep going. Results will start to appear only after relentless effort for sustained period of time. Key here is to enjoy the journey and believe that amazing things always take time and it is worth the effort.

What Happens During Intermittent Fasting and its Benefits

The physiology of fasting is fascinating. The power of fasting lies not in the mere reduction of calories, but the beneficial hormonal changes. One of the main benefits comes from reducing insulin, but there are also increases in nor-adrenalin, cortisol, and growth hormone. Collectively, these are known as the counter-regulatory hormones, since they all serve to increase blood glucose at a time that the body is not getting glucose from food. Here we focus on human growth hormone (HGH).

HGH is a hormone made by the pituitary gland (the master gland), which plays a huge role in the normal development of children and adolescents as the name implies. However, it also plays a role in adults. HGH deficiency in adults leads to higher levels of body fat, lower lean body mass (sarcopenia) and decreased bone mass (osteopenia). Growth hormone is typically secreted during sleep and is one of the so-called counter-regulatory hormones. HGH along with cortisol and adrenalin increases blood glucose by breaking down glycogen – so it counters the effect of insulin, hence its name. These hormones are typically secreted in a pulse just before waking (4 am or so) during the ‘counter-regulatory surge’. This is normal and is meant to get the body ready for the upcoming day by pushing some glucose out of storage and into the blood where it is available for energy.

When people say that you ‘must’ eat breakfast to have energy for the day, they are completely wrong. Your body has already given you a big shot of the good stuff and fueled you up for the day ahead. This is also the reason why hunger is lowest first thing in the morning (8 am) even though you have not eaten for 12 hours or so.

Fasting is a great stimulus to HGH secretion. During fasting, there is the spike in the early morning, but there is regular secretion throughout the day as well. This HGH is crucial in the maintenance of lean mass – both muscle and bone.

Training in the fasted state. Increased nor-adrenalin from fasting will pump you up to train harder. At the same time, the elevated HGH stimulated by fasting should increase muscle mass and make recovery from a workout easier and faster.

Benefits:

  • Insulin levels: Blood levels of insulin drop significantly, which facilitates fat burning (1).
  • Human growth hormone: The blood levels of growth hormone may increase as much as 5-fold (23). Higher levels of this hormone facilitate fat burning and muscle gain, and have numerous other benefits (45).
  • Cellular repair: The body induces important cellular repair processes, such as removing waste material from cells (6).
  • Gene expression: There are beneficial changes in several genes and molecules related to longevity and protection against disease
  • Intermittent fasting helps you eat fewer calories, while boosting metabolism slightly. It is a very effective tool to lose weight and belly fat.
  • Intermittent fasting can reduce insulin resistance and lower blood sugar levels, at least in men.
  • Studies show that intermittent fasting can reduce oxidative damage and inflammation in the body. This should have benefits against aging and development of numerous diseases.
  • Intermittent fasting may have important benefits for brain health. It may increase growth of new neurons and protect the brain from damage.
  • Studies in animals suggest that intermittent fasting may be protective against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease.

Research shows that counting calories and limiting your food options make dieting a chore and causes stress which often leads to abandonment of the diet, feelings of deprivation, uncontrolled cravings, and weight regain. Adapting to intermittent fasting, a method of scheduled eating and fasting, relies strictly on time. Some people want more flexibility when it comes to losing weight. Rather than saying ‘just eat less’ we tell them not to eat after 6 p.m. and for those who have the discipline, it works.

The biggest beneficial effects of fasting come from 3 things:

  • Autophagy – the cell’s self-digestive mechanism that recycles waste material and old proteins into energy. This greatly improves your health and life-span.
  • Ketosis – the metabolic state with elevated level of ketone bodies in the bloodstream. This makes you burn primarily fat for fuel from your own adipose tissue. Ketones are a much better source of energy for the brain because they cause less oxidative stress and they last for longer.
  • Hormesis – the body’s adaptive mechanism to mild stress. This will trigger protective metabolic pathways such as AMPK that increase mitochondrial density and boost the immune system. Hermetic stressors in the right dose will make the organism stronger than it was before.

Therapeutic benefits of intermittent fasting

  1. Protects your brain: intermittent fasting encourages and speeds up the production of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which makes neurons more resistant to dysfunction and degeneration. Ultimately, this kind of eating plan will help your brain stay in tip-top shape, and slow down its degeneration.
  2. Intermittent Fasting slows ageing: this way of life mimics caloric restriction, which is the most effective way we know of to increase lifespan. When you fast, it gives your cells some time to detox and recycle, so your body can slow down the ageing process and even help prevent age-related diseases.
  3. Increases in the Human Growth Hormone (HGH): during intermittent fasting, HGH has shown to increase as much as five times over. This hormone is produced by the pituitary gland, and increases glucose levels, and is therefore suppressed during feeding. Fasting is a great stimulus for secretion of HGH. This particular hormone is important for athletes due to its anabolic effect and its ability to help muscles recover quickly.
  4. Induces cellular repair (also called auto phagocytosis): During a period of fasting, the body induces processes that are vital to cellular repair. Fasting helps the removal of waste material from cells. A study done by Cell Stem Cell shows that fasting actually shifts stem cells from a dormant state to a state of self-generation. These cells are also regenerated in the immune system.
  5. Reduces inflammation: inflammation in the body is the leading cause of so many illnesses. Fasting helps reduce oxidative stress, along with preventing and fighting inflammation in the body.
  6. Facilitating weight loss: intermittent fasting has been proven to aid weight loss in individuals. This is because of the change in hormone levels which facilitates weight loss. In addition to lower insulin and increased HGH, intermittent fasting increases the release of the fat burning hormone norepinephrine. Additionally, studies have shown that short-term fasting may increase the metabolic rate by 3.6-14%. These same studies have shown that people lost 4-7% of their waist circumference, resulting in a reduction of harmful belly fat that builds up around the organs and causes diseases.

Psychology of a Habit

Psychology of a habit

  • The trigger: Your alarm goes off and that starts the morning coffee/tea sequence in your brain. Your ‘cup of tea’ trigger could also be a person, a time of day, an emotional state, or any number of things.
  • The behavior: You walk out of bed and sip your coffee/tea prepared by your house maid. Thanks to her who makes bad habits even easier to continue with.
  • The reward: You feel the effects of the invigorating caffeine and the pleasurable dopamine released by your brain and tell yourself, Hey, do this again because I feel energetic and refreshed. If I do not drink tea early morning I get headache so this habit of having tea/coffee is great to feel better.

This is a never ending loop. Habits, in fact, are much like addictions. So breaking habit loops usually have headways and relapses, just as is true for kicking addictions like drugs, smoking, alcohol, junk food.

Changing bad habits is difficult and a constant struggle because our subconscious brain pushes us towards comfort and wants to save energy. Our brain does not want to do things that are good for us because it requires conscious effort. It requires will power which is not easy on brain. Our brain by default would seek comfort, avoid risks, avoid changes in our lives, our brain shows resistance to good habits even though they are beneficial for us in long run.

Our brains naturally enjoy the short term instant gratifications which are generally a result of bad decisions. Our brains tend to stop us from inculcating good habits which have long term benefits, having everlasting gratification because it is hard and consumes a lot of mental energy resources.

So we need Discipline and commitment to to stick to a a good lifestyle. Good habits and doing right things that are in our best interests is not easy. It is true with health, fitness, good eating habits, a balanced lifestyle, managing finances and relationships and pursuing our passion. Of course it is hard to choose the right things and take right decisions most of the times. If it were easy all of us would be flaunting a 6 pack and would be millionaires. But this is not the case because it needs consistency and commitment in terms of effort, time, adjustments, compromises and sacrifices to be great in something.

Do Not Get Caught up in ‘Shoulds’, Focus on your ‘Musts’

Our world is filled with ‘should’. What we should be doing. What is good for us. What should be done so that we can get settled. And then we have people mostly our closed ones and well-wishers saying – You should do this and you should do that. For what ? To have certainty, to be stable, to settle, to have good life, to get married, to have a house, to have children, to educate them, to send them abroad, to get them married, and one day most probably sit in drawing room watching mind numbing polarizing news, reality shows or serials or sporting events that run for days etc. And to be frank, there is nothing wrong if one desires a life like this in long run.

People like friends or colleagues say things and we getting bombarded with statements like you should go watch movie, you should go eat this and should not eat that you should go visit that resort, you should dress like that, you should be like this or talk like that, you should believe certain things, this is bad and that is good, you should study that course, you should get a job by certain age, you should get married and have children to become complete, you should buy a house or a car, you should.

Generally ‘Should’ is how others expects you to be or to do. ‘Should’ comes from external. ‘Should’ is something that majority of us does to keep things going. ‘Should’ is something that comes under societal norms and ‘should’ is something that we do to meet the requirements of the general public. ‘Should’ is something we do to be accepted in a community and be part of a group. Sometimes ‘Should’ is something that because someone said so.

Normally should stops us from living that way we want. Should keeps us away our ‘Whys’ – the reason and the purpose of our lives. It keeps us away from exploring new possibilities in life and pursue real meaningful tasks.

Shoulds are predictable not very complex tasks. They normally have certainty like ‘if not this then that’. You most probably could sail through with minimum effort. You might face less challenges and lesser resistance from external factors.

Challenges and struggles are required to  learn , grow, become stronger and to become confident and courageous.

The question here is what you want to do, what you aspire, what you believe is important to you. This brings us to what we MUST do. All the activities we venture into with a MUST MINDSET requires commitment.

Our interests, passions and aspirations fall under MUST domain. The things you love to do and feel passionate about fall under the MUST category. Here it is filled with challenges and you could enter into an unknowing territory. These ventures require your passion and immense will power to keep going.

Here you are going with your ‘musts’ and ignoring all the should people prescribe in our best interests. So it could be unconventional. It could be risky because many people have not explored this domain. When people feel that they are unsure of what you are doing and they fear for your decisions, then you have to realize that it is something unconventional that you are trying to do. Others may not be able to relate to what you think and want to do in life because they did not think that way. Many people who failed or do not consider themselves as ‘doers’, most probably will bring the people down who think unconventionally and want to reach higher standards in life.

While achieving ‘MUSTS’ you can expect some surprises. Some may be  pleasant and some sad. Here you will face some trials and tribulations which will give you a chance to grow through the storm. This makes you stronger and courageous.

So take the first step today. Take a decision to act on your wants and musts. Should will not take you to an esteemed position. Should normally would not give you a chance to contribute. By just doing the shoulds in life, it is difficult to be fulfilled and be proud of oneself in the long run. ‘Musts’ would give you a chance to create an impact and leave a legacy behind you. It is worth our effort, time and sacrifices in pursuing our ‘MUSTS’ in lives as they are the ones that give meaning to our existence and make us feel alive.

Do the Job You Are Doing With Passion

Prepare to give up something good to experience greatness later. Money is important. Money is needed to make impact, to take liberty to try out new things, to contribute and service, to donate and gift someone underprivileged.

If you are not doing something you love or passionate about, try to be committed to the work that you are doing right now. If you are consistent  and committed to the job that you are doing and if are willing to go that extra mile even when there is no expectation on you, you will win and succeed. You will see happiness, you will see your growth which leads to greater opportunities that might interest you. All this work might not be your passion or love but for sure you can make it interesting and less boring. You can derive the benefits out of it just by looking at it differently by saying that if this is the best option that I have right now then I better give my best to it.

Try to make a difference, try to create an impact in whichever way possible and leave your footprint. Health and mental fitness is important. What if you have achieved your dreams, or got a great opportunity to realize your passion but you got into a health issue. This might not permit you give your full potential to realize your dream. This could possibly negatively impact the outcome of the upcoming important event. There is a possibility like that.

So take care of yourself and give your full potential. Do the the work you do with passion and commitment. You will get positive results with this kind of attitude.

If You Do Uncommon Things, Prepare For some Backlash

The day you do things that are unconventional, that are out of ordinary, that are not considered normal but at the same time creates a sense of awe and inspiration in the minds of people,

Be prepared.

You might expect a lot of accolades and appreciation which you may get. But remember that majority of comments you hear could drain your will and motivation. Majority of your well-wishers and others might say things that could break your heart.

So be strong and hold your stance, keep your head high and stay on course. Do not fear anything and anyone when it is the right thing to do. When your heart knows you are here to Inspire and Be Inspired, create that positive impact.

Fight for it.

I personally experienced a lot of negativity when I started pursuing my passion of spreading the knowledge in the area of health and fitness. I faced a lot of criticism and demotivating comments from my close ones when I decided to propagate and spread the importance of a good lifestyle through various channels.

I slowly and gradually started to spread awareness on various platforms which took lot of effort end time. Along with this I decided to transform myself into a fit and healthy person to lead by example. I also have the strong sense of integrity to say what I know for sure and only walk the talk. I decided strongly that I would not recommend or suggest anything to anyone unless I tried it myself and tested it for efficiency and safety. Be it exercises or diet or supplementation.

There was a bigger backlash when I achieved my 6 pack abs and posted a pic on social media. Instead of encouraging me and appreciating for attaining a new standard which very few people can reach, my close ones started to say things that are hurtful.

My close family started to discourage me from doing this transformation stuff as I looked very lean. For them I looked malnourished. Their definition of healthy male is just opposite to how I looked. For them only models and film stars need that muscular and toned body. For them it is inappropriate for me to have this kind of figure.

They were very direct in saying that the stuff that I am doing is utter waste of time and effort. They said they dislike the way I look now and the pics I posted on Facebook and Instagram could shame them in front of others.

What happened in reality was quite different. In fact all people outside my close family were in total awe and many people appreciated for what I did and what I continue doing. People personally approached me to tell how inspirational it was to see a 35 year old guy doing things that seem unbelievable.

I said to myself that my intention and goal is completely benevolent in nature and I am completely conscious of the path I am threading on. I am pursuing something that is really beneficial to me physically, mentally, emotionally. My mission is to use myself to inspire others, bring about a positive change  in attitude towards health and fitness which would create a motivation to take an action to transform their lives through various methods. Being an IT professional and being one among many hard working private sector employees my mission is to lead by example.

Narrow Your Vision and Focus

Did you ever realize how focused you will be when you have a strict deadline which could impact your career and negative impact on your life if not done on time. Did you ever consciously observe how we will be focused when we have a pressing personal issue or how we give our undivided attention if a close one is in dire situation. Generally narrow vision circumstances and ambitions would have a genuine purpose behind them. They are not trivial to an individual.

Narrow vision requirements in life are the ones which defines us, these missions matter to us because we heartfully connect to them. We do not tend to divert our attention when we are working on these category of needs. Some of the motivational speakers would call them ‘majors in life’ – our passions, our missions, our ideals, our causes, our why, our purpose and so on.

These majors are generally bigger than ourselves, we place them above us , they define our identity and gradually people start to recognize us with our ideals. If we have to define our purpose , our passion – we cannot give a one word answer. We would like to talk about it passionately. We would like to explain how much it means to us. Our values, our passions, our life meaning and our vision of ourselves require narrow focused attention.

But in normal circumstances in our daily lives we tend to be casual and unconcerned about anything that is happening in our lives. This I call is having a widening of our vision or focus. In this scenario we cover a wide rage of topics and thoughts which are generally random and trivial. We have no intention to think about them but we focus on them for that moment just because we don’t have other important tasks at hand. These are things and circumstances we give least attention when we have a significant objectives to attend to. Appropriate way to define these minors is they are distractions disguised as our immediate needs.

Tasks that does not narrow our attention give us instant gratification and happiness only to find ourselves loosing interest in them in a short while.

They are ordinary day to day stuff like thinking about would happen in next episode of of reality TV, which movie or which video series to binge watch this weekend, stressing about delayed food delivery while having a sugary snack, fretting about traffic and our infrastructure while sitting in a AC car listening to random songs in FM, haggling with bus conductor over change while getting late to office , cursing the long queue for billing in a store etc. Indulging in this trivial things lead to further distractions, stress, anxiety and wastage of time due to inadvertent aftereffects of these mindless activities.

Excerpts from various motivations coaches and inspirational leaders

Keep Watering Passions and Dreams

It is not definitely required for you to leave whatever you are doing currently and whichever job you are doing. Everybody always thinks in terms of what else can we do when we are already neck deep with all the personal and professional obligations. If you believe this is true, then you have no right to say or complain or blame anyone and anything for what you are and where you are right now or going to be in future. Life happens to all of us and we need to take it as it comes without blaming and complaining.

“DO NOT” BELIEVE AND “NEVER SAY” TO YOURSELF BELOW SENTENCES

  • I do not have time for self-development and pursuing passion,
  • There is nothing to care and be passionate about
  • There is nothing much to contribute to society
  • I may not not be able to create an impact
  • I do not have any purpose to look forward to

If you do not value everything in your life and feel grateful, if you do not care to improve anything in your society, if you do not get a feeling to contribute to some cause which also brings in positive returns for you, on your family and on others, if you do not feel obligated to contribute something in return to your community and try to make things better than before, then most probably you might be living a life of excuses with entitled mentality. This is will not give you a sense of fulfilment at the end of the tunnel.

It is not required and necessary to give up the mediocre life and job you are sustaining currently. All the things that you are doing right now even though you do not feel passionate about them are filling up your life and they are helping you to live a comfortable life independently. Keep doing what ever you are doing and just commit some time and effort for tasks that are meaningful to you, that makes you alive and gives you that sense of reward for doing something about it.

So what is it that you could do to fill in the emptiness in your life. Keep watering your passion project, Keep fertilizing your idea or your mission moving an inch closer towards it daily, do your best to learn and grow which builds the wall of your dream a millimeter.

Setting Aside Health and Fitness is not a Good Idea

Earn, eat, sleep, go out on weekends, may be go on a vacation with family or friends once or twice in a year, pay house rent or house loan, pay bills and we cycle the same routine again and again day on day and year on year. Responsibilities increases, tensions increase, salary increases, expenses increase, meanwhile we could get into unforeseen situations in personal and professional lives, time spent on ourselves decrease. Time spent of the things that matter will reduce and time spent on the values of life that makes life worth living would be ignored.

This is what we call as life. Most of us spend our lives doing all these routine tasks. Of course these routines and desires are essential for us to meet our ends, to spend a decent comfortable life, meet our material requirements and get a sense of happiness at the end of the day.

But are we really taking care of ourselves to realize all these desires and dreams. What else is there if we are not hale and healthy. There is a saying that a healthy and fit person can think of achieving many dreams but a unhealthy person will have only one desire – That is to get healthy again.

If you are not giving enough time to your self-development and maintenance then it is possible that you can get into health related issues which could make you feel dissatisfied, drain you physically, emotionally and financially.

Read Books, Listen to Motivational Speech’s and Inspirational Videos

What are you doing when you are working out, what are you doing when you are taking a walk in the park, what are you doing when you are having lunch alone in your office or home or wherever, what are you doing when you got some free time after doing all the (un)important stuff in your daily life, what are you doing when you finish your office work . These are just examples . What you do in these times (simultaneously) does matter.

Of course we are doing something, but when we are doing something that does not need intellect and when we are doing some repeated stuff which does not need mental effort, we may definitely choose to do something in parallel to the main work . Like listening to something that is useful and adds value to us.

Reading and listening to inspirational talks of high performers and great personalities, reading or listing to inspirational books will work to an extent. They may not transform your lives but it does have an positive impact. If you take a book or a inspirational talk or a motivational speech you may not relate everything with you but for sure you might strike a chord with an instance or two which could lead you to a constructive path. Among hundred motivational videos you watched or 10 books you have read, there might be a few instances and sentences that could ignite the spark in you.

Don’t Judge The World Around You, Let Go of Your Ego

Having a job to provide for yourself and your family is amazing. There are millions of people out there who do not have a proper job for their basic sustenance. Everyone’s aspirations are different. What looks dumb to you might be exciting and interesting to others. What looks absolute waste of time and worthless effort might be a great cause for someone else. So stop judging the world around you for the way it is and people around you for the way they are.

If you do this subconsciously as the day and life goes by, keep thinking why that person is behaving a certain way or why so and so things work the way they are in this world and question why can’t they be better – Than it is just your ego self-speaking and you are doing no good for yourself and to others.

  • Do not put somebody down or lower your opinion on something but try to see if you could bring them up.
  • Do not assume that the people are already thinking negatively and going in wrong direction but let them know if the things could be better in their lives by choosing different things and making different decisions.

Why do you want to assume and believe that the world around you is already careless, senseless, negative and bad and assume that there is no better future or hope ahead. When we get these kind of thoughts just stop for a moment and think again.

  • Is it the world around us which is bothering us or it is who we are within ourselves which is bothering us.
  • Is it the world that has to be changed or is it the way we think that has to change.
  • Is it the world that can be a better place to live in or is it you who could make this world a better place to live in.

Can we for a change stop feeling entitled and strive to make the place we live in – A little more better place to live in.
