Do Everything with a ‘MUST DO’ Attitude

What in your life you can tell me right now you are proud of. What makes you proud today.

Raise your standards. Difference in people is their standards.

When you convert your should do into ‘must do’ , you raise your standards. Amazing things happen when you decide you ‘must do’ .

If you decide to take an action on the basis of ‘should’ like you should do it, I should change etc., you might get stuck. There is a possibility of you finding an excuse to stop. If it just a should for you are just interested and not fully committed to the process and system of achieving the target.

If you decide to take an action on the basis of ‘must’ then you will do it no matter what.

MUST DO means – You will not stop. You are committed . You will not find excuses but you will find an opportunity to overcome the problems and a chance to improve. Because your cause is more important to you than the hurdles you face.

You need to have rituals not just routines. Whatever you are looking for you will find it. But you got to change your mindset and focus.

We Know What and How to Do But Do We Want To DO IT

Most of us are fully aware of many commonsensical things we need to do in our best interest. Most of us are aware what is good and bad in this world. In this era of smartphones with easy internet connectivity, with little bit of interest to research online we get access to all the information to learn. So we obviously know what to do and how to do many things that enhance our daily lives.

However, the problem lies in moving, taking a decision and get started. There has be a plan to go ahead and be consistent in executing it. We have to stick with the plan and mission in any circumstance. In that process we will encounter obstacles, unexpected and uncontrollable factors may try to break our consistency, we will have personal and professional challenges to face, there will be innumerable forces that makes us give up.

Exercise – A Natural Brain Boosting Drug

According many researches, it was found that exercising daily or doing some kind of physical activity has more benefits mentally than physically. Think of exercising as a brain pension plan. Show Up – No Matter What

If you have taken a decision to transform your fitness levels, then the first step is to SHOW-UP. Show yourself up daily in the gym at the same time you decided, no matter what.

If you decided to spend 1 hour daily in gym, show up in the gym and be there for 1 hour doing some exercise and activity. Let’s not worry about what you do in the gym for the first few days. You just need to be present in the gym. Do not miss it for any reason. That’s it, if you can do this without compromise, then you passed the first hurdle.

Showing up consistently for something you resolved is the most important step. Once you are steady with this step, you are going to work out in gym automatically. With this you would gradually build seriousness daily and keep on improving yourself in gym. Regularly we get into a mode where we will realize that if we have to do something every day, then we better do it correctly and seriously.

After getting into this mode , at some point you will be start noticing the physical and mental gains due to exercise. After that, there is no stopping you. You gain momentum and there is no stopping.

This mindset development not only helps you in your fitness goals but also in other aspects of life as well. Showing up and being present to honor our commitment resisting all distractions around us needs a stubborn and focused mindset. Without this mentality, you could easily deviate from your objective.

Ensure that you are going to make today the best day possible and the next day even better. This is how we are setting new standards for ourselves every day. Give it all each and every day.

Live Quality Life

There is no way we can be happy or do what we want to do or be where we want to be without having physical, mental, emotional health.

Living 90 years does not mean you lived a healthy life, happy life and a purposeful life. Because of the technological advances in our generation, people might live longer but are you living a joyful and purposeful life.

A person who had an unhealthy lifestyle or who smokes/drinks or who do not care about exercise or diet could live a long life, sometimes may be longer than one can imagine. But most probably it may not be a pleasant journey. That person could live on medicines, may go through surgeries or may have to live on some other support.

When it comes to life, quality matters. How many quality years did we spend in our lifetime. How many quality years did we add due to our lifestyle choices. A person having healthy life choices would most probably be able to enjoy the life with minor glitches. A quality life enables us to realize our dreams at any stage of our lives.

We Must Control Our Mind and Body

Anything in our life is unpredictable, uncertain and constantly changing. Being consistent, learning and growing continuously is more important than hitting goals. Goals are good and they are necessary to start with. We need to be little cautious as goals may stop our improvement when goals are achieved. However, focusing on process or journey would enable continuous improvement.

As a famous lifestyle coach James Clear said “Goals can restrict your happiness. Fall in love with the process. If you want better results focus on system rather than goal. Goals are good for setting a direction, process and system is good for making continuous progress

A healthy lifestyle and well being is a life long process. Having a target to loose so much weight and building so much muscle is good to start in that direction, but focus more on the process of dedication, learning and continuous development.

Journey is more important than destination. Who you become during the journey is more important than what you achieve at the end.

No Matter What Happens It Is Your Responsibility

Just because you are in a mess because of someone else fault, does not mean that they have to fix it. If it affects you then you need to make sure that you do something about it to make your life better. By just saying that it is their fault and they have to fix it, they need to pay, they need to be punished would not solve the problem. At least it would not make you better in any sense. Take responsibility. The power of not feeling like a victim is taking responsibility. We need to get out of the victim mentality. Limiting beliefs will drown you slowly.

It is your life, your body, your mind, your family, your relationships, if something is messed up in life due to some uncontrollable person or event, do not sit and go into blame game. See how you could use that trauma and improve yourself. Try to see if you could become stronger than before.
