About Law of Attraction Briefly

Negative emotions and situations are not always bad only if you are conscious and have the will to build something out of them. Good timber does not grow into a strong tree with ease. Normally they are huge trees and at that height they need to withstand various external forces like strong winds, rain or weather. By the time they reach their full potential, they are strong and capable as they faced all these forces and built the strength in wood and their roots are grown deep into the ground.

You don’t have to be motivated to start something, you will get motivated once you take action and start doing something.

Just decide, be passionate, consistent , dedicated, committed, will power to do what it takes then world will come along with you, things start to happen. Like attracts like, what you give is what you get in most of the cases and let us ignore few exceptions. You love someone unconditionally, then you generally receive love. You support and serve others without expectations, then most probably you would become significant, receive love and be respected. You be positive and be an inspiration to others, you get the same. You attract what you believe in your mind.

If you sit and wait for the right moment, not doing anything because you think the time is yet to come, then you are going in the wrong way. We need to do something about it now, today. If we cannot do it today, then we cannot do it tomorrow as well. We cannot sit around and wishing for stuff to happen.

Sometimes we tend to stop doing something that we started or loose motivation in something we believe in because we face the challenge of what to do next. What am I going to do next. I can’t figure my future properly. It just freezes you from at least trying something. Sometimes you don’t need to know how, You just need to start believing it , doing it the best you could do at this moment and you would see doors opening up for you soon.

It is like science and faith. Science says prove it and I believe it. Hope and faith says, believe it and I show it to you. We are just creators of our future moment. What we do now, what we think now, how we spend our time now will have an impact on our upcoming moments in life.

Lot of us like to be victims, victims of circumstances, victims of frustrations and failures, victims of society, victims of how things run in our country, victims of anything and everything that happens to us. But if we have right intentions, If we want to passionately add value to society and improve other’s lives or provide a service for other’s wellbeing or contribute you gifts to improve other’s lives , then things start to turn your way. Sometimes it takes time to see results but we will experience positive things happening to us at some point.

I strongly believe that if we have the right intentions, if we put in the hard work to passionately learn and study things that required to achieve our goal, if we are sure of the purpose behind it, then you attract favorable things happening to you. We define our tomorrow by the decisions and choices we make today. Find out what you want and passionate about and be brilliant at it.

It All Comes to the Choices and Decisions We Make Daily

Life is all about making choices, making decisions. Every day, right from the moment we hear the alarm to the time we hit bed at night, each and every move we make is our own choice consciously or unconsciously. Every choice and decision make to choose what to do will have both short and long term effects on our lives.

As excerpt from the book ‘The Compound Effect’ by Darren Hardy.

Why You Must Not Open Your Mobile Early in the Morning

If you check your mobile or laptop or even TV early morning as soon as you wake up, you are actually letting others or external influences to control your day. Subconsciously what happens when you check your devices for notifications or likes on social media is that you are defining your emotions based on others or uncontrollable news or events externally. These external influences could be in the form of expectations, demands, recommendations, suggestions, wishes, likes, hates, negative news, irrelevant or trivial video notifications. Basically we are letting others agenda to act upon us and define our priorities for the day.

We are in alpha and theta brain wave states in the morning. We are very suggestable and influenceable in this time of the day. Whatever we are picking up and letting to go into our brains is how our actions are defined for the rest of the day. We basically rewire our brain based on kind of info we allow inside our brain and kind of activities as do. So as a result directly or indirectly our behavior first thing in the morning affects our productivity and performance .

  • Beta is conscious state.
  • Delta is when we are in deep sleep.
  • Theta is a state when we are transitioning in to sleep (in and out of sleep). We are having subconscious thoughts even though we are not fully awake. Basically we are not affected by the external influences. This is also a clear state of mind. Sometimes we transition into this state when we are taking showers while bathing or when we are all by ourselves and suddenly get a creative innovative thought.
  • Alpha is state of learning. It is a state of focus and deep attention. Meditation also falls here. For example when we are watching something we love, we get mind state where we are not affected by the activities around us, we do not respond even when somebody is calling.

So choose activities like meditation, exercising, journaling, feeling grateful or having gratitude for all the things you have and for this day, learning something and doing something challenging, reading and writing. All these activities are important for us  to take control of the day. Doing what is important to us and completing the tasks that add value to life first thing in the morning gives us the sense of appreciation and reward. It reprograms of brain to be the best version of ourselves and perform better. We tend to give our best in rest of the tasks for the day and make better choices and decisions. It signals our brain that we have control our promises we made and we have the discipline to work on them.

If we ask ourselves what is one thing that is important to me, that adds value, that makes me stronger either physically or psychologically, how can I control my day and feel impactful and feel that that I matter to me and for others. Begin the day with those kind of activities. This empowers us thorough the rest of the day with intention.

Take one day at a time. If this is the most important day of your life and what is one decision that I could make that improves your self-confidence. What are the things that you are grateful for and how grateful you feel towards the all the privileges, facilities, opportunities, relationships, money, health, job that you have.

When we try to do this consciously, our brain struggles to remain in the path because it is hard, it wants you to just give up and free itself from all the effort that goes into this morning routines. When you persist and try to do it in spite of all the resistance, you get to control your brain’s subconscious wiring and slowly rewire and bypass your self-limiting beliefs. This is the process to improve self-confidence as well.

Feed Your Idea Continuously and Look For Oppertunities to Grow

Working on something you love and feel passionate about gives you immense happiness and satisfaction. It need not give you any dividends but the work that you are doing for your self-development and satisfaction will give you hope for the next day and something to look forward to. Starting small on your idea beside your regular job is quite possible. You just need to decide to do it and take action.

It is hard to work in a full time job and come home, look after your family and taking of whole lot of other things could be difficult in itself. But once you start making slow progress and do some work on your passion in whatever time you find daily, consistently, it becomes a habit. This is how everything starts. This is how to get momentum. Start with something small with your passion project nurturing your idea, add some fodder daily and develop your skills and work on building your knowledge on the area you want to work. This is how you keep yourself engaged, this will keep you going, you will be focused on the important things in life, you will keep yourself busy, you would not waste your time on trivial things which do not matter to you or any one else around you.

With all our pressures, responsibilities, stress in life and other challenges, we try to fit in. Many of us try to fit into something that we are not supposed to. We do that because of our obligations and also to a extent due to our complacency. It’s like fitting a square peg into a circle shaving its corners to fit in. This is what we do generally in our lives as well by compromising our interests, passions, love to do something that we do not care about. Means even though our objectives, our attitude, our vision does not meet the job profile, we will be forced to take up those mismatched jobs because we have genuine reasons like debts, loans, credit card bills, need to get married, need to settle in life etc.

Keeping self-limiting barriers will not serve you in any way. They would block you from pursuing anything in your life. Just try to be critical to yourself, list out the various issues and challenges you need to deal with . Assess yourself, come up with some ideas to manage the various things that you need to manage. As long as you self-evaluate, rethink, strategize, open to challenges and work consistently with passion and focus you keep progressing.

One thing that you must never have in life is regrets. The feeling that you did not do everything possible to work on something you love, that you did not try to dedicate the minimum amount of time for your passion project would haunt you a the years later.

As Henry David Thoreau said “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and die with their song still inside them” .

What’s important is to whether we are involving ourselves in what we love and working on it continuously. It does not matter how small the progress is as long as we progress. There is no need to quit the current job and immediately start working on what you love and passionate about. All of us have the bandwidth to commit some time and effort towards tasks that light us up. Just spend a little bit of time and take small steps. Do what ever you could do with whatever you have. Do the best you could where you are and with what you have.

For instance, we might not be able to do 50 push ups daily because of various constraints, but can you just do a single push up. Regardless of the obstacles, what is the minimum we could do keep our integrity. What is the least we could do to keep our promise and stick to our decision.

Failures are important because they make us humble and give a chance to become stronger and better. To enjoy success we must experience failure in life. For that you need to first act and do something. Failure gives you a change to retrospect about what you did,. Failure is painful and that’s makes it even more pertinent in life. Failure is uncomfortable. Out of pain and misery you take some decisions – decisions to change, decision to learn, decision to improve. Through these activities you become better than before and now you are in a better position to face the next challenge. Becoming a better version of yourself itself is a success. Failure tells you what not to do and how to do things better.

We see many successful high achievers in life, just try to read some of their biographies, their struggles, the financial problems they had to overcome, the sleepless nights they had to spend, how many times they had to survive hungry without food, how many sacrifices they had to make to reach that level. When you see someone having a luxurious life or travelling in private jets we ted to see their success but do not see the process of years and years of effort and pain they went through.

Doing hard things develops your will power and stamina. Overcoming challenges to become skillful in something improves our self-confidence and ability to deal with unknown circumstances. Like you are comfortable with strength training, do yoga, it is a hard activity to do. Once you complete the yoga session you come out with the enhanced confidence that you were able to sustain it. This builds your mental strength which extends to others areas of life.

You have to do some boring repetitive stuff to grow. To develop that patience to learn the stuff that is needed for future. Like studying , going back to basics, asking simple stupid questions, seeking advise from people who are younger to you. Building some rituals is necessary in life as it builds our patience and our mental strength to put up with hard things in life. Sometimes in life we have to manage irrelevant stuff just to keep everything together in life.

Energy is everything. You only can manage your energy and focus by taking care of your body and mind daily. Your health is your everything. If you are unhealthy and unfit, it negatively effects everything you approach in your daily life. Of course you will be able to be functional, do the job, take care of your family but if you want to do lead and give optimum performance then you must keep your engine called body in top notch condition. You get better ideas, thoughts, you can keep your enthusiasm, energy high through out the day only when you feed high quality food, ample amount of physical activity and sleep well.

My own words and Excerpts from famous motivations speakers

Why Do You Need To Care About What You Eat Daily

You are what you eat. Of course you are what you are able to digest and absorb from the food you eat. You are basically powering your body engine to run with the fuel in the form of food daily.

Is it possible to run a petrol car with adulterated petrol or kerosene in it. How long will it run and how efficiently it runs. Yes it runs for a while but eventually it gets in to trouble. Sometimes we could repair it with a lot of rework and cost involved but some times it leads to irreparable damage.

Can you fly an aero plane with the normal diesel used in our land based commercial vehicles. No, aviation uses a special modified format of petrol which is called jet fuel. It has additives to prevent friction, risk of icing, resisting high temperatures etc. If you use a normal diesel , no body tried but I am sure it would run into trouble even before takeoff.

Similarly our body needs quality healthy food that it is supposed to have. Yes we do have a lot of modified food these days called fast foods, processed foods and junk foods. And yes we are capable to accept all this food and our systems are good enough to take in all this unhealthy stuff. But if you believe that this would not have any negative effect on your energy levels, you mental alertness, your mood and complete state of being, then you are naïve enough to believe that you can run a petrol vehicle using kerosene or an aero plane with commercial diesel.

You Must Be Willing To Do Things Today Others Won’t Do

Every day we see and we live in a world where we believe that bad things are supposed to happen to us. We have so many sources bombarding our senses from all the angles which by default makes us believe that we need to be always vigilant and careful with the unknown evil force that could attack us any time. We fear that anything can go wrong any moment and we live in a cruel world where we can have no hope for things to change.

World has never been this safe. In fact the world is so much better and secure compared to the 1940s and 1950s. We have less wars, no slavery, we have lesser poverty, lesser racial and communal violence, we have advanced healthcare, we have technology, better security and so on

You must be willing to do things today others won’t do in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t

What are the things that others won’t do

  • Make discipline a major force in your life
  • Socrates said the undisciplined life is an insane life . The road to life is straight and narrow because there are only few that are willing to discipline themselves.
  • Make it okay to fail a lot of people 85% of people allow their fear of failure to outweigh their desire to succeed.
  • You don’t have to be great to get started but you have to get started to be great
  • Socrates said the uncommitted life isn’t worth living. Commitment means to carry into action deliberately. Commit means to making it happen no matter what.

Excerpts from famous motivations speaker ‘Les Brown’ talks

Why Do Couples Fight

Couples do not fight for the trivial stuff like why did you place the socks on the table, or why did you throw the towel on floor or why did you not place the used plate in the sink or who is going to take the children out or drop in school etc.,

But actually for power and control, respect and recognition, love and care are the real causes behind most of the conflicts and arguments.

Generally when one person is doing either good or bad, whether they are lazy or responsible , when you disagree or become resentful of other person, it is because they are doing what you are unable to do or reflect the higher version that. What would you do? You envy them, you try to put the other person down, you try to criticize just to bring other person down.

If you are attuned to not ask for what you want and get things done due to your upbringing, when you see that ability in other person you would not admire it and try to get into conflict with them because you do not believe in that ideology. We come with these schoolings or preset conceptions and beliefs and expect others to be the same way even though we know that a certain quality is desirable one.

Generally most of the fights between couples start with one trivial thing like not opening the door or bringing a cup of tea for them while making one for them . Then the argument escalates to all the other negligible stuff that you ignored or not worthy taking about at different situations. Like not talking well with your friend, mother in law saying something to you or various other things that you were in disagreement with but didn’t care much at that time.

Confirmation bias : When you believe in something you tend to support the evidence that supports it and search for all the means that bolsters your belief. By this you disregard and reject any evidence that proves the other way round. If you get fixated that your partner is a slob, despite all the effort and responsibility that the other person shows, you cherry pick and looking out for the one instance which confirms your bias towards that person. Then you become blind to all the other good stuff that the other one did and go for the one mistake that supports your bias.

Fundamental attribution error: Being Judgmental and being partial towards ones errors and you think that the same rules does not apply when others does something wrong. Like if I am late I am stuck in traffic jam but if your are late you are indiscipline. Like I am  in a bad mood I had a bad day but if you are in a bad mood you don’t have self-control and cranky person.

Attack, blame and defend are the classic behaviors we see when couples fight.

During a conflict, we listen for very less time may be for 10 seconds and after that time frame we already start to prepare for rebuttal. If we listen carefully and completely it does not mean that we agree with you, you listen fully and still disagree. When you actually listen to the other person carefully, normally we can have a better response and ability to control the situation.

To efficiently handle a conflict

  • You can consider not saying anything and decide to have some time away. Ponder on the issue and then get back with some reasonable argument to say.
  • You may consider saying sorry. You might need to let go of the go and apologies for the terrible things you said or done.
  • You may consider writing a letter to the other person. When you write a letter you can put write your heart out and other person would also have a chance to read through it without coming to any judgment.

Self esteem is knowing ones own flaws but still holding oneself in high regard.

The Pursuit of Happiness is Not only Self-Defeating but also Impossible

The pursuit of happiness is not only self-defeating but also impossible. It’s like trying to catch a carrot hanging by a string tied to a stick attached to your back. The more you move forward, the more you have to move forward. When you make the carrot your end goal, you inevitably turn yourself into the means to get there. And by pursuing happiness, you paradoxically make it less attainable.

Living well does not mean avoiding suffering; it means suffering for the right reasons. Because if we’re going to be forced to suffer by simply existing, we might as well learn how to suffer well.

Be Ready to Face The Heat when Your Are Not One Among Many

This is what happens when you decide to do things differently than majority of the people, when you decide to spend your time differently than majority of the people, when you walk in a different direction, when you take a different approach towards life, when you separate yourself from mass thinking and mediocrity.

Most importantly you face a lot of opposition from your close quarters when you choose to raise your standards and be a different better person in your own group.

Everybody would be happy with you and less critical of you

  • when you spend extra hours in office and just focused on your job even though it is not making a positive difference for anyone around you
  • when you eat unhealthy foods and do not plan for healthy eating habits
  • when you do not exercise and take care of fitness
  • when you spend valuable time on watching mindless videos, movies
  • when you don’t care about anybody except yourself
  • when you behave immature
  • when your priorities are wrong
  • when you suffer from different diseases and infections due to unhealthy lifestyle
  • when you wake up late in the morning and go to bed late at night just because there is nothing better to do
  • when you watch mindless polarized TV debates and reality shows instead of having family time
  • when you indulge in negative talk and show self-pity
  • when you do not care for others wellbeing
  • when you do mediocre stuff because it is just the trend and accepted by society in general
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY when you are common, do lackluster stuff, do not question the status quo, do not have critical thinking and just follow the masses.

Now be prepared. Almost everybody would treat you strangely and try to bring you down

  • when you eat healthy and do not compromise on diet
  • when you exercise regularly and do not compromise your workout time
  • when you plan to go to bed on time early
  • when you become disciplined, committed and persistent
  • when you are able to simultaneously meet all expectations in your job while watering your passion and vision daily
  • when you take care of everyone and everything at home while doing something extra and different for others
  • when you can happily balance professional and personal life while pursuing your passion
  • when you spend free time in reading, listening, watching content that serves you the best
  • when you give practical advice/solutions to people’s problems instead of having pity-party
  • when you plan time to spend time with family instead of watching TV and videos
  • when you become more mature and more serious about life
  • when you want to make a difference to the society
  • when you want to impact others by re-creating yourself first
  • when you stop doing common things just for the people’s approval
  • when you do not just nod you head because majority of people are doing it
  • when you choose to be critical in thinking and make right yet uncommon decisions
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY when you start doing what is right, choose what is right and take right decisions which may be unpopular

Struggle for the right cause so that you can reduce suffering later in life

Suffering is unavoidable in life. But the struggle and pain is based on your choices and decisions you make at each stage of your life and even in each situation you face daily.

We become passionate about something only when we are ready to struggle for the cause. Read Passion – It is the Willingness to Suffer .

Choose your struggle well and become comfortable in the struggle. This does not means you will avoid suffering completely in future but you will definitely be able to handle the inevitable situations well and manage yourself efficiently.

  • Struggle for delayed gratification to have a long lasting happiness and fulfilment.

  • Struggle to putting yourself through self-induced pain (like exercise) to become stronger and improved version of yourselves.
  • Struggle to give due value to your relationships in testing times.
  • Struggle doing the right thing despite opposition and even facing discouragement, negativity.
  • Struggle to face your fears and confront them head on.

  • Struggle to let go of your ego, say sorry, take a step back, adjust a bit, let go of trivial things that bother you, be patient with your loved ones and your family. You may have to bare the pain of tolerating the other’s behaviors but suffer less later in life as you will be respected, understood and loved.
  • Struggle to do the things that you are fearful of but that are absolutely necessary for your growth. You may have to go through the pain of failure, embarrassment, learning, growing and gaining confidence but suffer less later in life as you reduce the pain of regret later in life.
  • Struggle to have self-control over a lot of consumables and luxuries of today’s world. Most of them are good to have but not absolute necessities. It might be painful to resist the temptation of not having the latest and greatest stuff but suffer less later in life as you have saved money and have a better security to spend on more meaningful purposes.
  • Struggle to network and get along with positive people and reduce the time spent with negative people. It might be painful to spend less time with close yet negative people but suffer less as you have lesser negativity, lesser discouragement and lesser demotivation . Suffer less later as you save energy to dedicate for better things in life.
  • Struggle to be patient with your kids and spend time with family in spite of your busy schedule. For this you might have to spend an extra hour to do your work and sleep less at night but suffer less later in life as you have built a strong relationship of love, right values and affection with you family.
  • Struggle to push yourself to do things that matter to you when you are sick or having a bad mood. It could be painful to overcome your mental or physical trauma but suffer less later in life as you are building confidence in this process which lets you be courageous in difficult unforeseen circumstances in life.

Why Stress Makes Us Overeat and Indirectly Cause Weight(Fat) Gain

Cortisol is a fight or flight hormone that is released every time you’re stressed by anything. Part of its purpose is to replenish your energy after exerting yourself through fighting or fleeing your perceived threat. Primitive humans certainly needed this energy boost after physically battling a wild animal, for example.

But generally, we modern humans respond mentally to stress, like worrying, not physically fighting or fleeing. And herein lies much of our health problems. Unlike our ancestors whose stressors had a more definitive beginning and ending (hunting and defending) today we have more continuous stress (traffic, work deadlines, kids’ schedules). We release cortisol into our systems far too often throughout the typical day with little break from our stress. Whether or not your stressor requires you to physically respond, cortisol is released, saturating your blood and tissues. Chronically elevated cortisol makes you vulnerable to developing higher blood pressure, diabetes, lowered immunity, and weight gain to name just a few disorders.

Stress hormones, including adrenaline, which gives you instant energy, along with corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) and cortisol, provide the biochemical energy you need to fight or flee from your stressors. Too often today’s response to stress is to sit and chew on our frustration and anger, without expending any of the calories that we would if we were physically fighting our way out of a wild animal hunt (as our ancestors did).

In optimum health, cortisol in normal levels has an anti-inflammatory effect in the body and impacts blood sugar, digestion, and immunity. There is simultaneously a hormonal (endocrine) and brain (neurological) response to stress.

In the days when a saber tooth tiger would jump out of hiding and attack, we had two choices with which to respond: Pick up a spear and fight, or run really fast and try to get away. This is what is known as the fight or flight response.

When the stressor appears (in this case, the tiger), cortisol shoots up to get you through the stressful situation. Dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline levels go up, and these stimulating neurotransmitters motivate us, helping to bring us up to full speed—action mode. Not only does the flow of hormones and neurotransmitters shift, our blood supply also shifts. When under stress, we divert blood from non-critical functions like digestive tract organs and shunt it towards skeletal muscle so we can move. Even our sex hormone levels drop in response to increased production of stress hormones.

Cortisol is catabolic (meaning it breaks down) , so high levels can cause loss of muscle tissue. This is the beginning of imbalance in the body. Stress really is the root cause of disease.

When your cortisol levels remain high, your body thinks it is going through a hardship and that it may starve. It will begin to store more fat around the midsection for times of famine (a stress). This also increases insulin levels, and insulin is–you guessed it–the fat storage hormone.

High cortisol increases blood sugar to help get you through the stressful situation, but high blood sugar = Insulin hormone released in to blood = lowers blood sugar = energy dip = feeling hungry and tired = increased sugar cravings.

Physiology is working against you–high cortisol triggers high insulin and high blood sugar. When we do not use the glucose released in to the blood stream either by fighting or fleeing (like we used to do in primitive times) and just sit in front of our laptop or sit in our car cursing the traffic, then the excess glucose will be stored as fat in our body.

Once your body reaches a certain stress level, it does what it feels it needs to. In most cases, that means overeat. Why? Because your body thinks you’ve used calories to deal with your stress, even though you haven’t. it thinks you need to replenish those calories, even though you don’t.

Levels of “the stress hormone,” cortisol, rise during tension-filled times. This can turn your overeating into a habit. Because increased levels of the cortisol hormone also help cause higher insulin levels, your blood sugar drops and you crave sugary, fatty foods.

So instead of a salad or a banana, you’re more likely to reach for cookies or ice cream or some sweets. That’s why they’re called “comfort foods.”

Eating can be a source of solace and can lower stress. This happens, in part, because the body releases chemicals in response to food that might have a direct calming effect.

The bottom line? “More stress = More Cortisol (stress hormone) = Sugar/Glucose released into blood for energy = Insulin released into blood to manage blood sugar = Insulin lowers blood sugar (may lead to Low blood sugar) = Energy dip, feeling tired = Feeling hungry, angry = Mood Swings = Need to eat food = Higher appetite for junk food = More fat storage = Gain weight = Various Chronic Lifestyle Diseases and Disorders”
