Mindset for Leading a Healthy Lifestyle – Focus on Process

  • We need to focus on the process and journey while we are pursuing our ambitions. Progress is more important and achieving perfection. Making progress, growing and learning on the way to success are key factors that keeps us motivated. There is no perfect result or results may differ from what we imagined at the beginning. The better person we become during the course of time gives us more satisfaction than the final destination itself.
  • When we start a venture, assuming that all external factors support your dream is a sure path to disappointment. Sometimes it might take a lot more effort and lot more time than we estimated. Our natural instinct is to stop trying and say self-deprecating things to ourselves. This is where discipline and planning helps to keep us balanced.
  • Our self-worth and self-esteem must be attached to the progress, growth, habits and strength we build during the process rather than the goal itself. This mindset will keep us open to more possibilities and continue to achieve more after we reach our goals.
  • We see a frustration or a problem in a particular day as a huge deal. We find it so annoying right now. But in the vast expanse of our life, when we look back at those kind of issues that occurred few months or years back, they seem to lose significance. In retrospect we also find them to be trivial and now we might even feel that we unnecessarily wasted our effort and time fretting about them. Based on this logic, if we need to have the right attitude when an unexpected event happens in future, then we need to have faith that this does not matter after a few days or months. Based on this we need to take a balanced approach in dealing with uncontrollable situations and must not lose our mind.
