Addressing the Root Cause
Today most of the health conditions we experience are a result of poor lifestyle choices. I believe that we need to work on the root cause of the health issue rather than just addressing the symptoms at the surface level.

Fixing Chronic Diseases
Modern medicines and drugs are well suited for treating Acute pain, trauma, allergies, diseases and infections that arise due to external microbes. They are amazing in relieving us from acute health conditions and they give us immediate results in most of the cases. However, there are a few drugs/medicines which treat the root cause of the chronic lifestyle diseases. In the case of chronic lifestyle diseases (disorders), majority of the allopathic drugs would modulate or block or suppress various symptoms(that show up due some inherent disease or disorder) and rarely treat the main cause of the symptoms.
We have a sophisticated health care system to cure diseases. We have invented advanced systems and excellent medicines that could treat us when we are already broken. However, we do not have a system to guide us in preventing diseases.
We need to understand that most of these symptoms are our body’s way of giving us feedback that something is wrong in our body and the cause may be somewhere internal. We can of course take modern medicines to relieve us from the symptoms temporarily, at the same time we need to put in extra time and effort to detect the root cause of the pain or trauma. Once the main issue (disfunction) is identified, we need look for all possible options to return to a healthy state using improvements in diet, physical activity, sleep, stress reduction and addressing nutritional deficiencies.
There is nothing wrong in resorting to modern day drugs to improve our body functionality in short term, but we need to be really careful so that we would not become dependent/addicted to those drugs to run our lives. Sometimes we do need them to get along with our daily activities. However, it is highly recommended to constantly look out for preventative strategies through lifestyle improvements in nutrition, proper resting/recovery protocols, optimum exercise/movement and supplementation if necessary.
