When we are in the process of transforming ourselves to become a better person, while we are inculcating healthy habits and bypassing our patterns that long are serving us, it is normal to feel abnormal and stressful. When we are doing something that is unfamiliar to us and pushing ourselves to break the old habits, behaviours and patterns, it causes an internal resistance that could sometimes be very straining. His may happen because it is like killing some of our personality traits that are no longer good for us.
Why does this happen?
Even though we consciously know that we are doing it for our own good, our subconscious brain does not give its consent until it becomes a new normal to us. Our brain has an incredible immunity against any kind of change in life, our brain does not like uncertainty and risk, our brain want to conserve energy, it seeks instant pleasures over delayed gratification, it wants to avoid pain, it does not want to fail or rejected, it wants everyone to adore and put you in high pedestal, it want everyone to show empathy towards you.
While going through any transformation our subconscious brain makes us feel miserable and gives us many reasons to feel that it is not worth the effort and time. Our subconscious patterns and habits are like immovable object, hence we need we need to be unstoppable force to hit those hard patterns to break and form new patterns. For most of us it takes everything in us to achieve what we want in life. It requires discipline, commitment, consistency, persistence, perseverance to transform into a improved version of ourselves.
