Your invisible mind lens and frame of reference

Your frame of reference is the lens through which you view and understand the world. The world you see and react is highly polluted by this lens in your mind. For instance, Physical world is same to both of us, but the way you assimilate the information is completely different from next person. This lens is the interface between the outside world and our brain. All information we receive through our 5 senses will pass through this filter called lens. This lens is so powerful that it converts, modulates, and adjusts the reality to align with your mindset.

This lens is powered by your stories you tell yourself, various events that programmed your subconscious brain unto 7 to 8 years of age, your beliefs that were created without your awareness, some beliefs that you created through your experiences of life until now, what you value in life, your parenting, environment you grew up, various people and friends you met throughout your life, your genetics, your hormones, what you eat, how you feel in that moment and lot of other uncontrollable external factors and events in life.

And the most unfortunate thing is this lens is invisible and cannot be detected. Even if we identify our pitfalls that keeps us in deadlock, we can only improve to an extent by painfully peal layer by layer over a long period of time. But any small improvement in our mindset is worth the effort.

As Shakespeare said, “Nothing is good or bad in life, our thinking makes it so”.

Albert Einstein said, “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.”

As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right,”

I ask below questions to identify those values that must be attended daily with consistency. Everything apart from my answers for below questions, is a noise that is coming from outside. I hear that noise and do what is necessary to reduce the noise but that won’t shake me.

First:
What will I do and must continue doing for myself whether I have everything life or lose everything in life?
What will I do and must continue doing for myself even if no one cares and appreciates?

Second:
What will I do and must continue doing for my family whether I have everything life or lose everything in life?
What will I do and must continue doing for myself even if they don’t care and appreciate?

Third:
What will I do and must continue doing for other people whether I have everything life or lose everything in life?
What will I do and must continue doing for other people even if they don’t care and appreciate?
